    Wetsanding

I sprayed a couple spots on my car with paint for touch up purposes. I want to blend the paint, what grit sandpaper should I use when wetsanding and any advice that can be givin on wetsanding will help. Thanks!

A touch up spot is pretty hard to get smooth you normally have to build the spot where the chip is up higher than the rest of the paint. Then start with 1500,2000,2500,3000 grit then buff. good luck geting anything less then 2500 grit truely out. 3000 grit will make your life much easier. Use a wool pad with an aggresive compound to start then work your way down with foam pads and less agressive compounds(be careful not to sand/buff through the paint too much)and remove the swirls. I de-nib(remove dirt) cars at a body shop so I wetsand everyday. It will take some practice but get good at it(not many people are). Hope this helps

what he said, anything under 2000 requires a lot of buffing to get the scratches out, you might get away with 1500 on a white car, do all you work wet sanding, then lightly buff it, you could more than likely do it by hand depending on what you have for compounds, but if you final wet sand with 3000 you could do it by hand for sure.....

SPEND THE $ ON GOOD PAPER!!!! crappy paper will clog fast, the grit will come off of the backing paper and cost you more in the long run. goto a auto paint store and get your paper 3m or klingspore are both good brands that you should be able to find easily.
