Ones local options will vary but in any auto paint shop has been able to be place into aerial can. The placement into the can doesn’t change, unless one goes for a 2 part, but the paint one can use can be $30-150 per pint. Least that was my option locally. The bottom range of PPG has worked fine for my bumper repaints, touch up, etc. I have some cans of white around. I’ll see if I can find a spare panel and paint this week and see If it’ll match some Alpine 2 and 3.

If you want to note clear coats. The best I’ve been able to use is Spraymax 2K. It is a 2 stage so you MUST use a good respirator, tyvec suit, and cover area from overspray. It is extremely toxic but as things go it provides the best result.

        Good idea for thread OP!

Good thread OP. Not sure why ppl don’t understand the concept here about the “off the shelf” option. I would like a suggestion for salmon silver and alpine white I. Anyone?

Love to find off the shelf for AW II. I want to do the engine bay, so it doesnt have to be perfect.

This was the closest color to bronzit that I could find on the shelf for cheap. I painted my mtech1 spoiler trim piece with it. It was a perfect match but the New Mexico sun has turned it darker over the 2 years since I painted it. Probably should have put some clear coat on it but I was to excited to get it on my car.

I found a good match for zinno but can not find the paint can now. I painted my dads front valence on his 86 zinno 325es and it turned out good. I will report back when I actually find the dam name and brand of the paint I used.

Slightly off topic, but perhaps helpful:

For my BBS Style 5 basketweave aluminum center rings, I used Wurth 0893351930 High Gloss Clear Lacquer on top of Wurth 892180S Silver Wheel Spray Paint.

You can find both as a kit here for $37.99 + shipping. https://www.autopia-carcare.com/eins...l#.W5zZLBopCf0

I only painted the metal rings, not the plastic centers, as lacquer can sometimes score plastics.

Clear lacquer looked glossier after two coats, initially went on flat. Overall look is a nice match. Wheels are presentable again after adding new BMW 70mm roundels.

Somewhat related - Avery Gloss Gray Metallic wrap matches Delphin pretty well

it's a Kenny Powers quote on wheels
