    E30 door seal problem

I have pulled away part of the door seal on the driver's side of my 1986 325e, next to the front headliner. Now when I push the door seal back into place, the roof upholstery sags. How do I tuck it back in so that it's neat and tight? Is there a trick to doing this?

The headliner should be glued to the body. I'm guessing yours is loose?

The headliner is not glued on. This video shows how it's removed:

Unfortunately at the end it doesn't show how the roof upholstery gets tucked back into the door seal.

The idea is that you stretch the lining, glue it in place and clamp it securely (at and beyond the area being glued-c clamps and wood can work) while the glue cures. Executing that without damaging the material or having it move while curing can be tricky.
