    Black Chorme

I am thinking about sending the kidneys out and only making the chrome area into black chrome. I will also get the 325is emblem done. Everything else on the car is either black or smoked. I also need to make the decision on the wheels, but the jury is still out on that whole thing.

    Thoughts?

          Found this online:

Ever seen a front wheel of a car with a light coat of brake dust? lol. It looks like that! It is the same process of chroming, but a slight variant gets you black chrome.

Here is a pic of some wheels!

            I love black chrome.

I just wouldn't do it on your kidneys.

            YMMV.

I am going to buy a new grill and send it out to advanced plating this week.

I was going to black it out, and I have one that I did - it was not for me, and it was too much for a black car. :( Too black! I like the chrome a hell of a lot - so I figure the black chrome would be right to my taste! :)

Interested to see how this will turn out, as I'm thinkin about this for not only the kidneys on my car.

The kidneys AFAIK are not chromed, but polished stainless steel and I think real chrome plating of stainless parts can be problematic.

Hope it would work, those would really look good.

I will know more very soon. I called to see what they thought - I am going to send it in for them to look at.

whatever it is, it's thick and tough as nails. I tried to sand through it once.. uhh, yeah. :p

I tried a similar effect using some tint spray on the chrome.. lasted about a week until it started to chip off.
