I'm going to add a Front Air Dam from a 1987 IS to my 1988 Lachssilber Cabby, and maybe even a rear lip spoiler as well.
Both are in my possession as is a near-new set of fog lights for the air dam.
The front air dam is, or should I say at one time was Delphin Gray, but the paint is peeling away and looks like hell, but I bought it local and for cheap, so no shipping costs.
I believe the Air Dam is some type of ABS plastic, so I don't want to use a paint remover that is going to melt the plastic.
The paint on the rear spoiler is OK, but still needs a color change to match the Lachssilber.
Anyways, I don't have much (actually any) experience with refinishing and painting these types of panels and doing a search and reading has left me even more confused.
The paint on the front Air Dam doesn't have to look perfect, but I would like to have the colors match as close as possible.
Can someone who has done this link me up?
Like I said, I've done a search and don't have any experience with this so if someone could help me out, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks very much.
I will post before and afters as well.
