    Huge scratch INTO metal...rusting.

Some dipshits at my school either threw rocks AT my car...or the dumpster near it. The same retards that almost pulled a urinal off a wall in the bathroom. It's all the dumbshits off the reservations!

ANYWAY - I got a HUGE scratch in my sunroof. A rock skipped across it and made a bunch of guages into the metal - the biggest one is rusting now. My problem is, I have no idea how to get in there and sand it down, without destroying everything around it...

    Here's a pic - not the best, I know.

The thing about it is - picture rubbing you're finger along - there's two 1-2.5 mm valleys in there - INTO the metal. The only thing I can think of is taking my dremel to it. I know the CORRECT way to do this is to sand the whole spot down and probably bondo it... But man this sucks. :-\

I should also mention that my entire roof is fading, so it would be pretty much impossible to color match....

Can kinda see my balding goin on here. *sigh*

CF Sunroof plug? I offer you suggestions requiring no body work/repair at all. This is a plug'n'play repair.

keep wax on it. there's lots of chips like that on my car, but as long as you have a barrier of wax it won't rust through. otherwise the only option is some touch up paint.

For a quick fix to keep it from getting any worse, go to your local auto parts store or WalMart, etc. and pick up a 3M sanding pen such as seen here:

Sand the rust out of the chips/scratches best you can, then fill in the area with touch up paint. That should help take care of the problem and make 'er pretty again until you get ready to do a full repaint.
