Need help fender rolling in Tacoma area

    Hey fellow PNW guys...

My car is sanded and prepped @ the painter, waiting for a free spot in the booth to get sprayed. I have always wanted to roll my fenders, but never got around to it, but now since it is about to be painted, doesn't it make sense to roll them beforehand?

That said, the car is in Tacoma. I live and work in Seattle, but could make a trip down there to do the work. I've never done any body work like this, so I'd be relying on your expertise, and would gladly compensate you for it as well as your time.

please let me know if this is something you are able to help me with. Thanks!

next week could very possibly work. It might not be painted at that point, but even if it is, the paint might be soft enough that it won't crack if we keep it heated.

While you're up here maybe you can help me tune my sub amplifier ;)

EDIT: Send me a PM so I know what day/time you will be coming through Tacoma.

Sure, guys. Fender rolling requires a fan if I am doing any of it.

NVM, I am bringing one anyway. Fat old bastards need to be kept cool.

if you bring the tool, i will do all the work...

                but i gotta know,
what day, so i can take it off as a holiday.
or i would have to do it after 6pm (both sat/sun_) with driving, unless you want to do it at my apt. in Bellevue (yes, we can work there, but it would be "shade-tree" style)

I can provide extra fans to ensure adequate airflow/ventilation ;)

My work schedule might also be a little funky, but I can always call in a personal or sick day if need be.

Luke I sent you a PM...

i just checked, and i no longer have any vacation days (hours) left.
                    so,
i can only help after 6pm either day, but sunday would be best because i have monday off, and can stay up later.

at this point it does not look like my car will be painted this weekend, so we should probably get those fenders rolled at the painter's shop in Tacoma before he paints the car. Luke when are you going to be driving through Tacoma?

Any decent body guy can roll them by hand with a hammer and a piece of wood. I had all mine done before paint and as you can see they are flat as ever.

                          thanks for the photo

i saw a few youtube vids of it (that got carried away into racing, and painting, and well, over an hour of fun stuff)

i saw we can use a baseball bat for the rear too, but those tools look so easy i just want to roll a few (my rear arches especially (runnin 225/45/17s)...

                          i got a heat gun.

hey james, did the fender rolling affect the fitment of the sideskirts at all? I was just wondering about that...

                              Nope, not at all.
