Help! trunk lid wont sit flush

my trunk lid has some play in it wont sit flush and its really annoying to look at. everyones always liek hey your trunks open i get out and jsut shake my head and get back in my car. anyone know how to fix this?

Sure, get a wrench, unbolt the trunk lid from hinges, toss it away. This way, when someone says your trunk is open, you can say "DUH".


Loosen said bolts a little and align the trunk lid. When happy with alignment, tighten those bolts.

AHAHAH. no trunk is like 100hp wight reduction too = p. thanks its been bothering me for a while. ill try it tomarow.

before you get happy with a wrench, try adjusting the rubber stops on the two corners of the trunk lid. you twist them in/out to lower/raise the back of the trunk.

the catch is adjustable too. you can crank down the catch as well as the bumpstops and get a great fit. it just takes patience. i can provide photos/info if you like as i've refit 3 different lids to my cabrio.

thanks yeah thats what i did liek a week ago. i dont know how it got messed up because it used to sit flush but. im all good now thanks though
