    iX flares on early model?

Is it totally impossible that iX flares will fit on an early model? The only thing stopping them from being direct fit is the difference in the height of the rear arches, but is it so much of a difference that they won't fit at all?

Anyone who knows me knows I could handle modifying them, but would it be more trouble than it's worth? Has anyone tried test-fitting them?

If I'm not mistaken, ix flairs don't add any extra width to the fenders. Would you be doing this for purely cosmetic reasons?

Dont they fit most late models without modification?

The main concern would probably be if the late and early fenders have the same curve of the arch. The arch is obviously higher on the early model but is the shape the same?

Its been done by a few people. Ix cars dont have a different exterior than other late models. The challenging part Josh is facing here is the difference in the rear arches. Dont think they ever made an early model IX so he is going to have to modify late model flares to have the same arches as an early model.

Josh: your probably going to be shortening them a little bit on the back end

Edit: it seems they did make early model IXs in europe so you could probably just get some from uroland and put them on without modification.

They actually made the iX on early model chassis' in europe.

You can either find them used from overseas, or spend about $2500 on them new. (the flare kit, that is)

They aren't very close to the right shape. I'm sure they could be made to fit but it wouldn't be terribly easy.

you could probably make them fit but it's not going to be bolt-on. there's a guy who just slapped them on his early model on E30tech, looks like ass.

there is also an early model ix but the flares are not the same at all - they are a lot more chunky and have these ugly grooves in the skirts. yuck.

Are you sure you're not thinking of those BBS skirts that look like iX skirts?
