About 18 years ago, the PO of my 91 318i repainted the original Diamond Schwarz Metallic to a Schwarz and it's totally faded again to a milky white on the roof. The repaint was a low budget paint job so that's why it faded. I am saving up for a quality paint job down the road and I know that I'll keep it black. Just unsure if I'll repaint it Diamond Schwarz Metallic or just paint it Schwarz. I have not had good luck with BMW metallic paint jobs on my cars (fjord blue metallic on my former 74 2002) and that's why I'm thinking of painting it Schwarz. Anyone with a Diamond Schwarz repaint their car Schwarz and have any regrets?

Isn't Diamond Schwartz more dark gray than black?
I would say that 25% of modern cars are painted in that color.
If you want to repaint the whole car, you can choose any color. Black looks wonderful only 15 minutes after washing, then it looks dusty.
