Chrome trim around pop out window?

Is there any way to safely remove the trim attached to the pop out windows so I can get it refinished? I’m not interested in painting it black.

    Thanks

Isn't it polished aluminum covered by clear coat?

appreciate the link. I was under the impression that it was some sort of anodizing below the clear coat, maybe I’m wrong. In any case, the pieces of trim I’m trying to remove in the link you attached are “H” and “l.” It doesn’t look like the writer describes how to remove those.

It seems that the trim is permanently attached to the pop-out windows.

There is no trim available on realoem. If you destroy it, you'll have to buy new windows for $300 each.

I was contemplating buying new windows but based on my search both are NLA.
