    Valence questions?

I have a 85 325e and I purchased a 86 325es front valence and im having problems mounting my Zender front spoiler...I heard that there were different valences for newer e30s?? Can my 86 valence be converted into a post model valance...or do I have to buy a post model valence?

My front spoiler doesnt even line up or fit right...it can be stretched but it doesn't look right...

    Thx

You have to change the valance again to the 88-up style. These valances use spoilers that go over it to change the look. These spoilers aren't meant to be replacements by themselves. Pictures of the parts would help so there's no confusion.

That looks aftermarket. No US cars came with that valance.

What you need is an early euro valance '84-'86. It is identified by the lower part being angled back.

                CHILDRENS:

84-85 Valence was narrow, same dimensions as Euro early valence. Difference was in the fog-light holes, but all euro lip/spoilers bolt up to it.

86-87 Valence extended a little more forward to allow fitment of oil cooler. So it was a little longer on the sides, because front remained flat.

                88+ got a facelift...

OP, take pics of that spoiler from the side. What exactly doesn't fit? Zender valance should fit all 84-87 models, but post pics of exact fitment issues in question.

                  ok..Heres a corner pic..

I pulled the bumper and put that screw to hold it in place...The original mounting spots for the Zender front end dont even line up at all...

In this picture you can see how the bumper is flexing and doesn't sit right...

look at the middle of the bumper its slanted down because its being flexed..

Its been awhile since i put mine on. But i also had the 85 and back valance under it. I'd just put it on there with a few screws, and if there are places that dont look right put a bolt through it with some shims behind it. The bumper covers the whole mounting area of the zender anyway.

But its not really designed for it..I can see what ur saying but id rather have a flush fitting bumper...lol..why couldn't e30s be as easy as e36s...lol

IIRC, it has to be an early model add on simply due to the fact there are two tow hook slots. The later valance uses the plastic bumper with the integrated bumper shock/tow hook threaded assy.

If anything, I think you need the earlier early front valance.
