    call me crazy (sideskirts)

aight... so i've been thinkin bout gettin some sideskirts & jordan inspired me to think about mounting my own.... so lately i've been catchin myself lookin at cars while i'm on patrol in a parkin garage at work.... saw a set that i like...

now... i'm gonna post a couple pics of a set that i saw... i cut out the rest of the car so you don't call me "crazy" for sure ;) (if you know what kinda car they're on, don't go all bitchy on me 8) )

Jonathan 90 M3 said exactly what i was thinkin... they're a little reminiscent of the factory e30 325iS sideskirts... cept these ones are convex, & the e30 ones are concave

so what cha think? from the looks of em, they don't curve at all, which is good, cuz neither does the side of my e30

as for length, they should reach all the way across the side from wheel-well to wheel-well & they'll probably require a little trim... but not so much that i'll go into the convex section

    opinions?

this probably won't happen in the near future & if someone steals my idea & does it before me... no biggie ;)

and if i DID do it... i'd probably keep em black (unless i find other things to do to my car in the future)

Hmm, I know what car that is.. ;)

They look alright, and do actually look pretty similar to the IS sideskirts.

      Yeah, they do look similar.

Actually.......there was a E30 with IS sideskirts at my dealer ...... I wish i had a camera on me, it looked sweet.

      Anyway, it's that a 2000 Honda Accord?

I find it scary that we can all tell what the car is.

Anything custom and subtle looks good, do it.

I don't think any style of sideskirt that "pops" out like that would look good on an E30. They are kind of similar to the RD ones like Fred Kim has on his car, I just don't think they match the car well.

                      i don't see why wouldn't... i'm pretty sure they'd just need a little trimming & custom bracketry

i dunno if i'm ever gonna get around to doin this little project... it was just an idea that popped into my head the other day, sparked by jordan's venture dabbling in e36 sideskirt territory

I'd try to fit the skirts from my mom's '00 Civic hatch but they flare out at the front.

I wouldn't mind custom fitting skirts, I think it'd be quite easy (for me at least).

I test drove an E30 with the iS skirts a while ago when I didn't know what they were, I wish I jacked them :(

Haha Oreo you rice queen!
No, actually they would look good on your car.
Are you going to leave em' black or paint them?
I usually don't like a lot of pop on sideskirts, but
those aren't that bad. You already decide how
to mount them, and shave them?

hah, slow down there bro... i dont even HAVE a set, nor have i started investigating / researching specifics on the how-to aspect.

if i got em, i'd leave em flat black.... looks cool & saves money ;)

i haven't measured a set, although i'm guessing i'd have to do a little trimming... if that were the case, i'd just trim off an equal amount from each end most likely, or trim it all off the rear... that might look kinda cool.

as for mounting, i'd just make some custom brackets... kinda "design/fab as you go" style

as for time-frame... i probably wouldn't do this for a while... at least till it warms up in the spring

Well right on, when you get around to it, pm me a couple
piks as your going through it. Love to see how it'd go.

I think it would look a little better if you trimmed them at
the back, or maybe at the front? Should Pshop a pik
and see how it would look.....
