Go-damn that's a lot of work... I MIGHT have paid him just to see it live a better life in the hands of an enthusiast, but Christ that would take some $$!

Any straight bodied M3 is worth more than 3 grand if it still has a running s14 in it

If you've never driven an M3, I'm of the opinion that you really don't know what they are supposed to sound/drive like.
I also love the fact that you could feel the motor move two inches when you gave it gas. You do realize that motor does not have near enough torque to move the motor under acceleration. The only way to dislodge it even an inch would be a bad downshift or very hard braking.
You are also inconsistent in your claims/comments. You failed to mention many things in the first place.
I don't think you know how to own an M3, listen to Shahe

don't come here griping becase you couldn't get an M3 for a steal of a price.

            Let me quote myself:
The mounts were practically worthless and the motor probably moved 2 inches or so when given gas.

We had the hood open, and he was playing with the throttle, you could see the motor tilt to the side when he went WOT.

blah blah blah...this birthday poney has been beat...

so for a 70 dollar upgraded motor mount and 300 dollars for a valve adjustment, you felt it was enough to justify low balling someone?

an m20 (torquier motor) with both motor mounts sheared in two will not move the motor two inches. Unless you are referring to the natural flex of a worn motor mount. Even then, an s14 being revved at idle will not shift old motor mounts over two inches

moral of the story: don't buy an M3 unless you know what you are doing

Or try and tell somebody what their opinion is when they have not seen the car in person....

                      thanks.

and by the way, don't try to tell me what my opinion is, which is what your previous post just stated that you were attempting

Chill guys. 3k is a low ball but this thing was pure shit. Your estimations were for a straight shell but this thing was beat to all hell with horrible bodymods including cutting into the metal  . Basically if you bought this car you would be "lucky" if the unibody was straight.

Its a rescue case, plain and simple. I didnt think it was that bad until I saw it in person. Id be afraid to actually have a day to dig into the car too see how bad the PO ruined the wiring harness while doing his "dash work." We are talking FAR more than motor mounts and a valve adjustment.
                        Im now E30less.

considering a s14 head alone is worth 1200 dollars and a full running motor is worth 3-5k and a shell is worth 2k and suspension and hubs are worth 1k and blah blah blah blah.

                          low ball is the call.
