    polishing aluminum

I want to install my big6 afm sometime during my winter break, but first I'd like to polish it up. I've been trying with some fine steel wool, but it's too weak and will take too long. I've been considering using my rotary tool (dremel/RTX) but the attatchments for those are meant for fairly small stuff. What would you guys use? what sort of chemicals? I also have some 500-2000 grit sandpaper, but it'd be hard to get into all the corners. I may end up just cleaning it and painting it black, but polished aluminum would be trick.

First never ever use disimilar metals or you will end up with corrosion. Bad. Use Aluminum wool not Steel wool.

Harbor Freight sells a polishing kit as does Eastwood tools for polishing wheels and like items. It would speed up life as it attaches to a drill and works via a flexible cord. Look at their websites.
