    Front Valance Removal - 88+

I've searched on a couple of forums to see if there is any sort of write up on this job.

I'm going to be removing it in 10 degree weather so is there anything that is going to surprise me when I start? Seems like a pretty straight forward job as the car already has the front bumper and fenders removed.

Do the front bumper shocks need to come off in order for the valance to come off? I've seen conflicting posts about it.

i dont have much helpful to say, except that when i took mine off it took under an hour, and i had no help or guides or anything. just go slow, look for all the screws, and if something doesnt come off figure it out instead of pulling on it. its not hard to do, good luck!

there are two bolts on the bottomish of it that you get to from the under side if i remember correctly. i have read that people forget those sometimes. they are near the brake ducts.

here is a thread that helped http://r3vlimited.com/board/showthre...=front+valance

You can leave the shocks on. If you already have the fenders and bumper off its like 4 bolts. There will be some wires attached to the back of it though but you can just unclip them and leave them.

Thanks for the link. That is just the kind of picture I needed. Seems like it shouldn't take more than 15 minutes since a lot of things are already gone.
