    Fixing up my broken car

Well the right side of my car is wrecked. Here's the post if you want: http://www.r3vlimited.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=21113 with pics. The car is in excellent mechanical condition besides the now broken right control arm and has an excellent interior condition, and if it wouldn't a too hard of a project i would be interesting in fixing it up, i'm in no rush anyways, cause i'm not taking it to college next year and don't need a daily driver too badly. Basically both bumpers and every right panel on my car including probably a whole new right door is needed. How would i go about getting these parts--could i buy them from somewhere or would i need to get them from people or junkyards? I have no experience with this stuff but love my car and i am up for the challenge. Thanks. It's a 87 325is, and i would also be interesting in changing from metal to plastic bumpers if i could, I believe i would need to change the vaccuum hoses around. Anyways plz give me your thoughts and if this is feasible or not worth my efforts.

it's an early diving board car.. I say part it out and buy a new one. if you had a nice euro model or an M3, maybe, but you can buy another one just like it for $1500, or spend $2k repairing the one you have.

maybe consider an ix, you probably won't suddenly lose control if you hit a small patch of sand. ;)

Hey, don't make fun, it was also gravel and sawdust and who knows what else, some kind of liquid too i think and i wasn't the only person who bit it, plus if i had better tires i woulda been fine, my bad though...

But no seriously i really don't wanna buy a new e30 for 2000 cause i'd have to put tons of money to make it mechanically nice, mine is running real smoothly, everything is, and it's purty inside, and 2000 doesn't sound that bad, i'd do it over slow increments and i'd get the stuff i need to do first.

And just for checking, can u direct me to where i can find a nice one for 1500. I usually check ebay and autotrader, but they're a bit more pricey and never close by....

so buy another chassis and swap all your good parts over. I still don't think it will be worth fixing the one you have.

And if you ever need help I'm sure there are plenty of us PNW boys that would be willing to help. Just start calling some yards and watching the papers for a real cheap e30 or just a shell.

EDIT: and since you want the plastic bumpers buy a late model shell. It will save you the hastle.

That car is wasted. Its totaled. Doesn't matter why or who was at fault.

                Let it go.

Take the good parts off of it and buy another car.

I'm curious as to how these are related.

My bro is in Fed Way, Kruzen, btm4k, and dirtsquirt in Gig Harbor, Crivellone in Tacoma, I'm up there occasionally. There are others too. You should have come to the fix it day in Federal Way about a month or so ago.
