It was a joke. They were mounts created by the king of period correct, Japandrew73, arguably sacrificing structural integrity for period correctness.

Wow, this got a lot of attention! I just logged back on an everyone is chitchatin' away, I say!

I'm wondering though, what were mods that someone would do in 1987 to their BMW?

chrome fender trim, testarossa side skirts and over-the-bumper kits, 15" 5 star fittipaldi's or similar wheel, chrome lower door panel trim with "BMW" engraved, gold emblems, wood grain interior kits, car phone, bra, limo tint, dash covers, body colored parts like side trim and windshield wipers, windshield sunvisor stickers, cassette player pull out or indash, a bunch of amps and maybe some sheepskin seat covers.

Never mind, most of those mods sound disgusting...

just put on some 15" bbs style wheels, a couple of cool 80s interior accessories, and you'll have a mini time capsule.

Wow, those square lights look ugly, even for the 80s.

Not to toot my own horn. But here's my old e30. I tried to make it look like something out of the 80's. Maybe with a different set of wheels it would look more time correct

That is cool. Doesn't scream 80s but very correct, the modifications compliment the car well. I like the pin-striping. I wish that AC Schnitzer pin-stripe came in something appropriate for an alpinweiss.

It's somewhere around Harrisburg, PA. I guess?

You want period correct, use early 318 springs. If you want retro-chic, drop the shit out of it. Low was nonexistent in 1987.

The car isn't very low, just a slight drop. I'm really diggin' the pinstripe. I just got ahold of some plastic bumpers, as my DBz were destroyed be an idiot in a parking lot. (no note left)

Got an Mtech II wing for 50$, but looking at it, I'm not exactly sure how much I like it...

I'm also really liking the widened steelies from diamond racing that my buddy's autocross car has...

                                So much for period correct.
