ix skirt removal??

    ix skirt removal??

    does anyone know the right way to take off the sides skirts/fender flares off of the ix...It seems to have these little rivet looking plastic anchors.


    Just wanna do it the right way and not tear shit apart...

    for the front flares there's a few screws on the bottom and i believe you have to pull the flare back(toward the door) to make the tabs release. (not sure about the rear flares) For the actual side skirts just take off all the screws along the bottom and hit it upward with you hands a few times.

      you will need a "panel popper" tool to do it without damaging the plastics.

      it looks like a screw driver with a v at the end.

      all this after you remove all the screws first though.

      there is also 2 sided tape at the tops of the skirts and flares.

          If you take out the fender liner, you can heat the plastic grommet and stud with a heat gun. That will make it a little softer and they will come out easier.

          Just don't go too crazy and melt them or damage the paint.
