he didnt sk your opinion on what they would look like, rather on how to install them.

It should be pretty straight foreward to mount them. should just be a matter of drilling a few holes and screwing them in. If they are BMW origional, they should have all the mounting hardware there, which will make it really easy. just hold the flap up to the car, mark the holes in the flap onto the car with a marker, then drill.

I know I know they may look ugly but I want to give them a try, I've got ideas for them and I just want to see how they play out, I might just put them on in the winters but honestly....with white side skirts that are on the ix, they get mud on them and look gross all the time, the most noticble wear on the paint job is on the skirts right behind the wheel wells with chips of paint and dirt all on them, so they have SOME practicality.

I'm putting mudflaps on my E30 as soon as I can find a set.

ETK lists them with a mounting bracket for the rear, I can grap the pns for you if you want...

My car has the original hard plastic BMW flaps (front only). They actually look pretty nice. They're contoured to follow the shape of the tire. I'll get some pics tomorrow.

You have an IX so the front mudflaps are different, and they are extremely rare you can find them on ebay here and there, they go for like $90.
I found a guy selling a set for $50 on ebay. I have found that old audi 5000 front mud flaps mount pretty good.

For the archives, here are the part numbers for plastic bumper mud flaps (non IX evidently)

                    Front flaps: 72 60 1 906 952
                    Rear flaps: 72 60 9 401 168

                    "Fixing Clamps":
                    Front- 72 60 8 117 730
                    Rear- 72060 8 103 010

                    word.

Honestly, you might want to try some generic flaps from wally world or something

yeah the front mudflaps for the ix are ix specific. they mount to the flare, if you get some ix ones i will attempt to steal a digital camera and take a pic of how mine are mounted.

There shouldn't be too much to mounting them. Go to the stealer and ask. Screws and/or clips wont cost much from them so just get the mounting hardware from them.

Yeah, pay for having a slower e30, that wastes twice as much gas, has twice as many things that can go wrong.

I swear, if it wasnt for those 5-10 days out of every year, when im smoking by brand new SUV's uphill in snowstorms....

my car had factory mudflaps which i removed becuase my car was too low. they attach with no drilling there are brackets and clamps and such. figure it out, but dont drill. good luck.
