    Wheel Finish

I was grinding metal on the passenger side rotor (literally, there was no pad). Brake/metal dust of a rust color is now all on my rim and I can't just wash it off.

Is that a refinish or maybe a very very light sanding situation?

    Anything would be awesome.

Try using some mild car wax, and work your way up, i.e. switch to polish, then cleaner wax, then rubbing compound and see if you get any results.

What have you used to try and remove it? You might try a strong solution of Superclean (5:1 maybe?) or even some mineral spirits.

Superclean should work - just make sure it is diluted well.

I used some wheel cleaner with a brush, and that got a good amount of it off.

I'm thinking some Superclean with a proper wheel brush will get it all off.

How did I know your reply would be along those lines.

I try to hold back, but he asked. I don't make commision, so why would I try to boost the product unless I trying to help him out. Super Clean is way to harsh for wheels.

I agree, especially rims with a super nice finish like LS's. That's why I said try out some mild waxes first.
