    "so cool, they're hot"

    'Nuff said

Owning a member of the legion of the schwarz army, I honestly dislike all blackout on the car besides the inner door trim (the door trim that opens with the door). Most schwarz owners will be rocking some sorta silver wheel or a rim with a polished lip, so the chrome actually acts as a flourish, and it makes the car stand out a little more when viewed from any angle IMO. Same with the front. Black-out grills is just too much black and makes the car look "murdered out." And we all know, that's pretty rice.

Some cars, mainly Zinnos and Alpines, pull off the blackout trim exceptionally well, but for schwarz, please respect the dark side and keep it light ;)

I don't know. I do know that flat black grills look like shit, though.

Go to Lowes or home depot instead buy plastic dip 6$. It is very easy clean Surface and spary. If you dont like it it just peals off. Check it out on youtube. I'm not a big fan of chrome, e60 sport package I went black, e30 vert and I went black.

i thought mine came out pretty nice. How ever I painted the grills and light rims all at the same time so it looks fresh. I used a Semi gloss enamel black.

The thing is, it's not like they are painting your kidneys for $40, you are getting a brand new set for $40. Seems reasonable to me.

you can rip on me if you want but I actually have done this a couple times and it seems to look great. I take electrical tape and black out the kidney grills. It blacks them out for a little while and actually isn't really noticable unless you are 3-7 feet away ya know. I love doing it because when I am sick of it I literally just peel it right off.

I would definitely pay for the black chrome ones. Almost bought some for my e36. Black looks better on newer bmw's. not e30 e28 e34 etc.

I love the look of the OEM chrome grills, it brings the whole front-end together. It gives it more character and definition to its lines.

ok. since I've actually done the painted grilles thing - and a good can of paint is more like $12. $40 is piss all, and now I'll never have to touch them again.

I, personally, am not a fan of chrome. I sprayed my grills satin black and they're still holding up nicely. It's been about a year and a half now.

I hate black grills on any e30. It looks horrible and just cheap. It ruins the look of the the grill and the whole front end because it just looks like no grill is there and it blends in. The grill looks great, why try to hide it?

I like black kidneys on later model BMW's because they are separated by the body coloring of the hood.
