    Those running a CF hood...

How many of you connected the stock hood shock to the CF hood. I have not connected mine and I am wondering if this will put added stress on the hood or if I'm just worrying for no reason. Those with a CF hood, speak up.

Last time I saw that done it caused the hood to get tweaked all wierd. But e30 hoods sit different, should be alright.

I don't think it weighs enough to deform under it's own mass, and carbon fibre is notoriously rigid. Hood shock might make for a cleaner install though, and ease your troubled mind .

        Post pictures of the hood!
I don't see why the hood shock would be a problem with the CF.

It's not so much the weight of the hood as its the pressure that the shock puts on only one side of the hood.

I don't know how much bracing the VIS CF hoods have, but they are fiberglass hoods with only 1 top layer of CF so they aren't as stiff as you'd hope.
