    vert roof rack?

I have been searching for a roof rack for my soft top and haven't had much luck. pretty soon I'm just going to make one, but I figured i should see if anyone knows any roof rack secrets.

Ive seen them on soft top e30s before, and no matter how i search i havent had much luck.

so, anybody know where to find one? or shall i start making my own :D

I had an idea to creat a soft clamp to hold from where the frame connects to thesoft top. hard to explain but if you see it, its possible. and also i would the screw part of a c clamp pushing down on top of the frame and soft top. it would be padded of course to protect it.

lol I've searched and searched and searched. only thing I ever find relating to soft top roof racks are forum pages murdering anyone who talks about them. glad i haven't gotten murdered yet! Im beginning to think that the only way is to make your own, so I'm going to start building as soon as i get a cheap rack.

Well, you run the risk of damaging your top frame rails, because there will only be four contact points, and trust me, your bike will move around. Might even rip your roof off. Also, since your windows are frameless, you run the risk of breaking your windows if you shut the doors too hard.

Why not just get a trunk rack?
