Need Info....Removing Convertible Top & Frame

    I need some info....
I have a convertible but I'm in a different state
I'm going to look at a used Convertible Top & Frame.
Can you please tell me what tools I'll need to remove the frame with the Top on it
If there is any tricks or what is the procedure / steps that would help me too.
Thanks....I searched but didn't see anything
    I appreciate the help.

It's actually quite simple assuming you are talking manual top. I have no exp with the power version.

There are 3 10mm nuts on each side. I dont recall the exact length but you will want an extension or 2 and a philips screw driver to remove the speaker panels.

Watch for the micro switches and wire clips & you may want to take pics of how they are all placed and routed. Grab some extra shims just in case.

Otherwise it just lifts right out

jeffinhiscars is pretty much spot on - except I think the nuts are 13mm, not 10mm. There are 2 holding the bottom plate of the mounting bracket and 1 on the vertical plate. You'll see what I mean when you pop the top-cover and look at the mounting bracket on each side of the car.

Power top versions are pretty much the same, except there is no pesky cable attached to the inside latch (the one which "pops" the cover). However, there is/are 1 or 2 "arms" which attach to the power top mechanism which will need to be unbolted. Not sure of the size, but if you bring a 3/8" ratchet-set with you with a 6" extension and at least a 10mm and 13mm socket, that's pretty much all you will need.
