    89 Convertible Bumper question?!

Hello, I just moved to america.. And i just bough an 1989 325i e30 Convertible... and i'm doing some euro stuff on it.. kuz i'm from Norway! hihi..

question is.. can i buy an regular 87/88/89/90/91 e30 USED front/rear bumper and it will fit OK? AND is there a differences between 2 door, 4 door and a Convertible?? Or do i have to buy the "M-Tech kit" from like ebay or something?

because i know of one 4 door 88 that have some "plastic" front and rear bumpers..

Hope some one understand my questions, and will answer quickly :D

Welcome to America. Yes, you can use the plastic bumpers off the black sedan you pictured. Besides the bumpers, be sure to grab the shocks and any attaching pieces that align the bumpers. Also grab the front valence from the black car and swap it with your vert's front valence.

The good news is you won't have to shorten the rear bumper.

The plastic bumpers are On 89 and later US spec cars, 88 had metal bumpers but because 88 and later had the facelift they swap right on. Plastic bumpers would require you to run the 88 and later front valance as well below the front bumper.

Convertibles however didn't recive the facelift and plastic bumpers untill 91 I belive therefore I don't think a plastic bumper will bolt right on to the back due to the early style wheel arches

so you're saying that its going to be a bitch to try to "install" a bumper / front and rear from "86-91"?

              or the same as this?

I've been wanting to do this for some time. I've been trying to find a good write up with some good pictures. Well I went and did it myself. Hope this helps anyone that is interested in doing this mod. Here is what you will need. Plastic Exterior bumper cover WITH fender attachments (possibly turn

i have a 91 vert that used to have db bumpers.
i got a donor 92 vert with plastic bumpers pb
i think the pb are the same for vert, 2dr 4 dr

                the front swap was ez.
hardest part was grinding off the tow hooks.
you have to swap the fog light etc connector but its simple wiring

                the rear was ez too
the issue is that the db rear apron is different from pb rear aprons
what this means is that the black plastic guide plates that bumpers slide onto dont work
how i overcame this was i took off the black trim moulding
then took a marker marker from the inside of the trunk outward
and marker the bumper. drilled a hole. used a nut and bolt to attach the front. had to build up the bumper on the bottom underneath so it doesnt twist.
it sounds hard but its only hard to visualize.

Does anyone know if euro chrome bumpers swap straight onto a db vert?

OP, are those e34 or e36 front seats?

Yes, E36 front seats. "The previous owners work."

I don't know of any Crome euro bumper. But are you talking about this? :)
