I would be interested in a vert dead pedal...There's another consideration for late verts (like mine) with rhe airbag...RealOEM shows a vert dead pedal that is NLA of course, but there is a notation that it will not fit airbag-equipped cars. My guess is there is interference with the knee bolster under the dash.

Good call. Especially since it appears that ACS sells the same pedal for e30 and e36 verts. Who else made e36 dead pedals?

Well right now it's just wedged in there. The pedal is tall enough to tuck under the knee panel on the top. I didn't feel like running double sided tape or velcro but those are ways one could do it. I didn't want to do anything permanent. I don't really see a need to "mount" it though, besides the floor board area behind it isn't perfectly flat like a sedan.

We've been looking at a lot of different styles of existing dead pedals - modifying them to fit our cars etc. Also looking at designs for fab'ing one up. There are a number of possibilities but the two main hurdles are 1) a secure fastening method 2) maintaining the width between the carpeted left foot rest edge & the clutch pedal. In coupes this distance seems to be 2 - 2 1/2" but is half that space in a cabrio. In the vert it is real crowded in the foot-well, especially for the left foot.

I tried a e92 3 series dead pedal & it fits in pretty nice. the gap is still very small.

As you can see, the dead pedal frame fits snug against the edge of the carpet underneath.

I think Barry's solution with the e34M5 pad & a fabricated base has a lot of potential. Barry, could you post some close-up pic's? How is it secured?

    Thanks,
    Jack
