What do you guys think about cutting the stock springs? I have a 325e with a blown engine along with my 318i, so we are going to practice on the e and if we like is switch. Just wondering what your guys's experiences are

1. You cant cut the rear springs
2. You'll blow shocks
3. Thats one of the worst ideas ever.
4. If you are THAT desperate, order spring clamps from JC Whitney, then when they pop off while your driving and everyone sees it, you'll look like you have hydraulics.
The shocks are to long. If you cut them the compression will force them to bottom out. This will blow the shocks.
The rear springs are a tight coil at the top and bottom, and large coils in the middle. If you cut out the small coils, the large ones wont mount to the points where the springs are supposed to mount.
since im obviously new to this shiz, it would be much appreciated if i someone would pst some links to sites that sell lowering springs. Im not all about having the best, i just want something that will lower my car. But at the same time they cant suck, inbetween.
You need new shocks before you can install lowering springs.
New sport shocks that go with lowering springs are shorter to accomodate for the drop in suspension travel and ride height.
It might sound stupid, but since i have to buy new shocks anyways, wont it not really matter to cut them and see how it works, and if they blow i will just buy a lowering kit? How much other stuff would it ruin if the shocks blew?
