    What's around my windshield?

Can someone tell me what the rust colored thing outlining my windshield is? It's an ugly rust color and I'd like to replace it.

It's a chrome plastic insert(and locks the windshield in), you can replace it fairly easy. You can also get them in black and they last longer 8^)

Edit: did a quick search, surprised no chrome one shows but you can search around... - http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...hield+moulding

As a side note, most auto glass replacement places will have that strip in stock but I can't guarantee it'll be the highest quality version of it. I had one installed that way last year when my windshield broke and it still looks perfect though.

I loved mine. The missing wiper cap doesn't bother you?

Haha! I'm honestly surprised it took someone so long to comment on the wiper cap. Yes, it does, and I'll probably replace each arm as they are dinged and scratched. There is a lot of work to be done!

Back in the day everyone just replaced the chrome stripping with black. Obviously, the black will last the life of the car. It is cool to see a clean early model with fresh chrome stripping though.

I put a chrome lock strip in my late model vert. matches the trim on the side of the car. IMO the black looks cheap.

I'm going to be replacing it with another chrome strip. I like the chrome look, which is the main reason I wanted a pre-facelift.
