Blacked out vs Brushed Aluminium Kidney?

So, I recently got a hold on a 91 325i cabrio, and it has a plastidipped kidney grille.

For some reason, I really don't like it blacked out. When I think of an E30, I think of that beautiful shiny kidney that juts out of the middle and draws your attention along with the smiley headlamps.

What are your guys' opinions on 'em?

    Plastidipped or Aluminium?

I don't understand the allure of the shadow line/black out stuff on these cars. but then again I don't like plastic bumpers either.

Pull that dip off the kidneys!!!!!!!!

I've always wanted to find a way to do black or smoked chrome.

Chrome all the way. What's a bimmer without the kidney grills?

With an early car I find the chrome fits well. If all chrome is blacked out, then it is somewhat more fitting to have the blacked kidney.
