Water!!!! and Part number for vert quarter panel window

I'm not sure if this is the right part number or if its for the front door... 51361933751. I can't find any other pictures on real OEM that show it. I have water pooling onto my rear floors and is it possible that these are letting the water past and that's how its getting there? Also how would I go about removing the trim that holds the seal on?

Okay I figured out that this "door seal" is in fact for the quarter panel... But could this be the reason for water on the rear floors?

Yes and yes. I got mine from bavauto. No sales tax. They have all 4 for the convertible and it should run you about $85 US before shipping

It may not be the seals and water coming in from the front of the car and migrating to the rear.

I would test with a hose to confirm you have water leaking where you suspect first.

Here is the passenger seal. I can't remember but I think the driver side is just as bad.

I had water in the front passenger side but I took the elephant trunk out and that was filled with stuff and the front is dry now. Only water now is in the rear foot places on both sides, a little under the rear seat just drops and there is also rust forming inside the quaterpanel that can be seen through the truck. Also my rear trunk tail light gasket is bad and letting water in but I have a new one to put in.

It also doesn't press up against the window so I assume the water just tools right on down. Anyone know how I remove the chrome trim that holds the seal in?

Trim is pinching the rubber and a thin piece of the door like an upside down U. You have to carefully push it up off the door without bending the alloy.

Get a trim tool set like this...http://www.richtoolsystems.com/5-Pie...Set_p_182.html

They're even cheaper at Harbor Freight.

Start on one end and gently pry up. It'll all make sense once you see the trim move upward.

I would look more to the body drains under the car being clogged. I don't think that strip is designed to be water tight per say. I think its more to deflect the bulk of water rolling down the window. Another thought is the cowl drains. Maybe the water running to the back of the car?

When I bought my coupe I had to take the carpet out. It was ruined by all the water laying in the carpet. Almost every body drain was clogged including the cowl.

yea window wipers are not water proof, they are a mild deterrent.

There are 5 or 6 drains along the seam at the bottom of the rockers on a cabrio which are typically plugged. A small slotted screw driver should open then up

Thanks! I'll give that a try! I'm still getting the water in the rear pocket even after that but it doesn't seem to be migrating because I'll park the car on a down slope and water still pools in the trunk. I'll take a look at the drains in the rocker
