    price for new rag top.

guys, a friend of mine has a 88 vert that's in decent condition except for the top. she took it to an auto interior and upholstery shop and was quoted 2250.00 for the job including taxes. my first thought was way too high. can you guys confirm my initial thought or is that about right? she is in the atlantic city nj area.

Call James Critchlaw (PM me for his number), he lives in Lake Hopatcong and installs tops for way less than that, OEM and can replace straps and weatherstripping if necessary. I will have mine done by him within the next couple months. He quoted me $1200 including new straps and a couple weatherstrips.

If I recall, there's a guy on here who installs brand new tops, color of your choice for $900 flat. My car needs one badly...

Dear LORD. How the hell does it get that bad?

I guess I should be thankful I only have two little holes.

Leaving the car in the hot sun all day and never washing it. The plastic got so brittle, that every time I fold the top down into the well I get a new crack. Apparently the PO replaced the top 4 years ago (and the top in the pic is that top). Not one patch in it, its a shame he didn't take care of it. I wish the window was the zip out type.

You can still sew in a new window for ~$90 shipped.
