M Tech I trunk spoiler on a 'vert - any pics?

I have the chance to get an M-Tech I rear spoiler for my 'vert. Wondering how it would look...I've done searchs and seen plenty on coupes, but does anyone have some pictures of them on a convertible?

    Thanks!

I think it would look like shit with that brake light on there.

Swapping to a non-vert trunklid is a must IMHO.

I was thinking the same thing...my lid has a big dent in it where the PO slammed the trunk lid down with some golf clubs inside anyway.

Would be no match for a white Pontiac Fiero I once saw with an Eclipse like arched spoiler and a chuppy toy jumbo-jet LITTERALY tied to hang from the center of the wing.

M Tech 1 wing on a cabrio is right - but you need to get rid of the third tail light on the trunk deck. Two ways - 1) buy a coupe or sedan trunk deck (same part number as cabrio for the yr. of your car) - double check that part # interchange on realoem.com. If your lucky, you'll find one in good shape in your Blau color - if it had a is lip wing, even better as the mounting holes are the same for the M tech wing. 2) pull your brake light off the deck lid, fill holes, drill holes for the wing (find the template by searching this board & repaint. If your changing deck lids, be sure & do a test fit before you do anything.

I just finished this project on my car. Have attached test fit photos - final photos will follow tomorrow.

After having done this. one question remains - how do you wire the original 3rd light wires so the "brake light check" bulb will go off above the rear view mirror. Ryan, how did you do yours?

Cool - looking forward to the final pics! I'm leaning towards option 1 ...getting a new trunk lid. Since I have a few other parts that need painted, I might as well add a trunk lid to the list...would like to find one of an "IS" so the holes are already drilled from the factory.

Replacing the trunk is the best option. When you have your's painted to match, be sure & paint the plastic insert on the wing. The wing is two parts, the rubber. & the plastic piece that mounts to the rubber. This can easily be removed be the 3 small bolts on th bottom side. More than likely it is also held on wth 2 sided tape around its perimeter. Just take a putty knife & work your way around it carefully until it seperates from the rubber. Clean the old 2 sided tape off the rubber & plastic with 3M adhesive remover. When its ready to go back together, use new tape - then mount it - you'll be very please, it actually makes the car look longer.

Guy's those MTech I spoilers look great! I've got to keep my eye out for one now. I've never had a problem with leaving teh 3rd brake linght assembly on the trunk with the standard "is" spoilers, but i have to agree the shaved trunk with the MTech I spoiler is much cleaner.

I've still got the cloth cover on my hardtop too. Ryan, what's involved in stripping the cloth and prepping for paint? I'd probably go Alpineweiss II and maybe even add a pop-up moonroof (though my better half thinks even considering cutting a hole in a perfectly good hard top is INSANE).

+1 to Blue for the vin reports.

What color is your car, Cactus Jack?

Is that BrilliantRot, or something else?

I like how that looks! Bonus for me is the M-tech spoiler I'm getting is brand new, never mounted...so I won't have to fool with pulling the body color part off the rest before painting! Should be getting the spoiler in 2-3 weeks direct from the fatherland.
