    Changing valence

I just purchased a 1989 convertible that I want to change the lower valence to the regular one that most e30s have. I don't want to do a plastic bumper swap I actually like the diving boards. What do I need? Just the lower part?

    This is my car

    I want this valence

Clean looking cabrio, congrats. It should just bolt up but they look a little funny with the metal bumpers. They cover part of the valence thats not covered by the late model plastics. Also need a lip, fog lights if you want them, or the deletes + brake vent ducts. Someone who knows more will be along to correct me if I'm wrong I haven't fit mine yet but I'm doing the late model plastics swap

      Can be done.

Will require a couple mods for everything to play nice. My racecar is an 85 chassis, with late model valance, and Vert bumper surrounds on the front. There was a little drilling required on the valance to attach the vert bumper surrounds.

and its usually replaced with the late model bumper shock which houses the new latch, but if you keep the diving boards... then what?

tucked diving boards with later model valences actually look pretty sweet. Have a nice retro look to them.
