I hate FWD wheels on a RWD car. Its annoying because like Kris said they look like hubcaps. RWD cars should have wheels with dish, it doesnt look right without a dish

that being said..... do the alpina wheels have a dish?
oh well.... i dont really like them.... but whatever blows your hair back

Chill out on the Alpinas alright?

I don't like these new wheels because they belong on a Honda. Not even going to say the "R" word but they look modern and "aggressive" in the way that a classy E30 would not look good with.

My rule is that a wheel should be "era-correct" to the car. No 70's mustang should have Konigs..... and no E30 should have Enkeis or the wheels you are looking at. The only reason to get them would be if they are DIRT cheap and you just desire the wheel size.....

New wheels look like SHIT on E30s. Stick to subtle wheels. I love Borbet, BBS, Alpina, Kopis, Ronals, Euro weaves, Kosei's (simple and functional), SSR Comps....etc. (T-stars own all! was on E34 M5, so yes, appropriate)

To prove my point about era wheels. Compare the MM11-2 and the MM11-3 or whatever they are called. I like the 2, it doesn't look its best on an E30.....suits other cars better, but it does look good on E30s. Now the 3 was redesigned to look more modern, with sharp edges and "blades" almost......it would look stupid on an E30.

My .02 - don't get those wheels. Not everyone has to have the same wheels, but just avoid those wheels that look stupid on our cars.....be unique with some other wheels.

wheel selection is very difficult with the E30 - I agree with you entirely on era specific wheels. however, he can get whatever he wants really, it won't make my car any uglier ;)

what do you guys think of borbet type E in 16x7.5 with 225/45 ES-100s? about $900 plus shipping from tirerack.. I still want 15"bbs but shipping from the UK is apparently a PITA, and the borbets would be so damn easy to clean..

I think that would definately be cool. 16x7.5 is a lot of width and handling is much improved. And E's look good.....there are a few cars at our dealership with them, a E34 535, a new M5, and I saw them on a 3. E's C's T's are all sexy........(H + B = ugly)

I got some 15in C's on the way. :D (Still have to sell my T's sometime......)

Or nando, you could look at some Kosei's....... 8) (Or some used wheels and save some cash $$......what offset is the ix?)

I thought about the kosei, but they look a little too racy for me - I don't need unwanted attention from all the ricers around here. for the ix, kosei's are available in 16x7.5 and I think the offset is 32mm.

factory offset is 41mm, but wheels from 24-41 will fit (maybe more than 41, but who wants wheels that sink that far in?). The 15" BBS I'm trying to get are ET25, and will barely clear the fenders with 205/55s. if I went with borbets I could run 225s.. we'll see I guess.

I had ET20 16x7 TSW Hocks, never tried those on the lowered car but they are really heavy and not anything special either. people seemed to like them back then though..

Check VW forums for ET35 wheels. You could save with used wheels. But Borbet E's are sweet anyway. I think the 95 Jetta has ET35 4x100. It is some VW with the same centerbore....(I was looking at 17inch Koseis, and the fitment is the same -15mm of offset.....or good for your application.

I knew that was coming....... IMO, I don't like them. They just don't look good on an E30......

I don't understand why you guys would think a 16x7.5 Borbet rim would look good!UGLY Borbet is one of the more generic rims in Europe. if you are going to run something like Borbet rims, then you should at least run 16x9 at all four corners. BBS RS rims are the only way to go on a E30--- if you can afford them.

sorry man, 16x9 isn't going to fit an ix without ghetto stretched tires.. that's what gang bangers do in the states, tiny little rims that stick out with stretched rubber band tires. no thanks :)

looks like I'll be getting the BBS anyway :P
