    general paint q

    I am ordering some paint from paint scratch and i just realized that i am not sure about clear coat. I know my red car has clear but does metallic paint, specificaly laguna green?

    I am not sure on Laguna, but my Delphin Metallic definitely had a clear on it factory. You can use base clear on anything though... I am assuming you are just doing touch up anyways.

          Best to sand away a wider area through the clear down into the base with 220grit or even 400g. You'll know when the dust changes from white to the car's color. Get through the clear then do the touch up and then repaint the clear over the broader section. If you put base color on over clear then clear you'll end up with a sandwich of paints and it'll show if not done really well. You can also cheat & hot clear/wet clear it (spray clear while base is still wet)
