    is stock bodykit

I'm new to E30's and I have a question that I haven't been able to figure out.
It seems that everywhere I look on sites people's is's have the same front valence.

It seems that every 'is' I've went to look at is missing this lower front valence piece and/or the side skirts. This one, for example.

Is there a certain year that the 'is' came with the lower front valence (splitter??) and/or the side skirts. Or was this an option? I've been looking at 325is's for a few months now and this is one of the things I want.

    Thanks for the Help

Most of the is front lips have ripped off over the years. You just need to buy a new one once you get your car. They should cost somewhere around $150, give or take $20.

88-on 325iS should have that iS front lip, and deck spoiler, as well as sport seats.

The 87 is also had a 325is specific front lip which also usually gets lost over the years.

Any IS you see that still has it's front lip usually belongs to someone who KNOWS they are driving an E30.

The IS Lip came stock on the 325is' - I'm not sure if the lip was specifically an option on the 325i - I'm thinkin is wasn't. LSD, sport seats, and other little things were, but I don't think the lip was. (unless BMW made a sport exterior package or something, with the rear spoiler and front IS lip)

EDIT (i didn't see it said sideskirts):

The sideskirts were only an option on the 1991 325i - these did not come on any IS's for some reason. They were just an option on only the 325i for one year.

Or were they an option on teh IS? All I know for sure, is they were only an option for one year.

Right, it was a sport package option on 1991 which was not badged as an 'is'.

Was the sport package in '91 just an appearance package or did it have other options as well i.e. LSD, Sports seats?
Any reason BMW stopped producing the 'is' in '91?

I believe it came with sport seats and LSD, but I'm not positive. as to why they dropped the iS, the most likely reason is cost. Pretty much the same reason why early ix's were loaded (and cost more than an M3), but later ones pretty much stripped to get the cost down.
