    Headlight Protection

What is the difference between the "Bavarian Autosport urethane headlight shields" (49.95), and the "headlight protection covers" (27.95)? I need headlight covers and I've heard good things about Bav Autos, but don't know which one is better, if any at all. TIA.

I bought that stuff as bimmerphile suggested when i got my new smoked ellipsoids. They work pretty slick. Comes with instructions on how to put them on properly. Air bubbles worked their way out in a few days from heat and such, can't tell they're there. I don't know how well they'll actually work against a big rock cracking them, but there won't be any stone chips on them.

Also, once you put them on there, are they on for good?

Ryan Stewarts smoked ellipsoids did not crack after his accident that left the front of his car a bit smashed. They can stand up to alot.

There's a lot of dust under mine, kinda pisses me off. Anyway to take it off and clean up, and put it back on with no worries?

I have the 3m film from bavauto on my e36 ellipsoids and lamin-x on the fogs in yellow(fake french fogs), out of the two the 3m seems to be a higher quality film but way overpriced.

Given that the film is made by 3M, I bet they simply use their own spray adhesive. My dad uses it a lot on projects.

I have the bavauto 3m stuff. didn't really seem that overpriced, considering a set of new ellipsoids is like $400. a 10% investment to keep them new seems to make sense to me.

I don't think you can reuse them though. how did you get dust under them? you're supposed to clean the lenses and use a solution of alcohol and water when you put them on. mine are perfectly clear except for the air bubble on one of the low beams I need to fix :P
