    Rolling or trimming fender lip?

I have a sporadic rubbing issue when my car is loaded with luggage and the like. I either need to roll or trim the rear lip. Now my one concern with rolling the lip is that the RD valance mounts to the rear lip at the very bottom where its vertical.

Now would I be better off just rolling the top part or just trimming it and sealing it?

you're probably only rubbing at the top. thats where I rub, but I have to remove my rear fender skirts to finish it off.. the rubbing is very minor though, so I'm not going to worry about it for now.

take a magnum marker, preferably the biggass one. pull both rear wheels, and draw the fender lip as complete as you wish, then load that bitch down and drive around. when it rubs again, voila, you know where its rubbing the fender lip, if its is at all, then you'll know whether you can just roll it or look into other options

No I know where its rubbing I was just wondering if shaving the lip down would be OK since I cant roll it much on account that i need a flat surface at the back for the apron. Its rubbing on the inside of the lip halfway down to the sidewall, right where the tread ends. I would only need to shave a couple MM. That is why it only does it when the car is complely loaded with crap up to its gross, the suspension has to sag another whole inch for that inside edge to touch.

Guess the question is would there be any adverse effects to just grinding off a few MM of the top of the arch part of the lip? As long as I seal and paint it.

I think the general consensus is that trimming weakens the fender, but I dont think thats a huge deal, especially with what you're talking about

Duly noted, it is thick as HELL there and I think I might have to break out the angle grinder if I want to make any quick process. Maybe cut hte paint with a blade first to prevent cracking.

i grinded off the lip on my rear fenders cause there's no way to roll 'em. it was rusted before and fixed w/ fibre glass by the previous owner.
