you would be supprised how well it fits into those clips, I mocked it up and it fits very nicely. I'm mounting mine a bit differently, I'll post up some pics when its done.

      REMEMBER:
*paint the lip before applying the chip guard. And apply the chip guard at the recommended distance.
      Hey Cris,

Did you paint, clear, than use the 3m on the lip? I was able to come across one and its at shop with the rest of the parts that is getting painted, so just wanted to make sure. Also the chip guard spray comes in a lighter texture or that heavy texture posted above? Thanks man!

Can't wait to get this put on my vert!

I didn't use clear coat. I went from painting - wet sand - chipguard - then a very light coat of the same paint over the chip guard.

I believe i had the light coat of chipguard. The e30 has the heavier texture, maybe the heavier coat of 3m might look better. But i'm satisfied with the look i have- it's pretty close to how the valance appear..

Also if you want it vertically flush to the valance, you HAVE to trim the lip part about 1/8" to fit flush.

And if you are bothered by the side flaring.... here is what you could do......

....It was the only spring i had. I'm sure it could be done with a shorter spring or a zip tie, so it would not show as much.

Wow, that looks amazing! I really need to get out to some junkyards. Anyone know a good one in the PDX area for Volvos?

Thanks for the close up pics Cris!

So the texture spray comes out clear? What do you think if I spray the lip with texture spray first and paint it. It probably wouldn't show up huh?

Only problem i'll be concern with if you only spray after the chip guard is the paint chipping. Since the chipguard is transparent, the true color of the lip might start showing when the paint gets chipped. Chipguard could only protect paint that is under it...

OIC, got you! Makes perfect sense, duh! Hey you recommend any place to pick up some 3m texture spray and some trim paint? (SEM or DUPLICOLOR) Which one is better?

                  Not bad at all!

Now mount a splitter on the bottom!

I got mine awhile back and i got it at an auto paint store, didn't really bother looking around other stores at that time. Only reason i bought it there was because it was on sale and figured i'd need it someday :D. About your paint brand choices - i don't actually have a prefference over the other. Find a color that closely matches your car, i think either brand would be fine for this project.

I have a question cris. How did you cut the end of the lip so precisely? I got a lip from the junkyard and I want mine to fit right at the start of the fender like yours does. Did you use a saw or file? Whats the best way to trim the ends basically. Thanks.

isnt this plastic too thick for a razor? I would think a hot hobby knife would be best, but I dont have one.
