    Removing underhood rustproofing?

    Has anyone stripped the yellow rustproofing and NOT painted and then had it start
    to rust and or bad consequences? I am in Michigan by the way.

    Also does anyone have a pic of an Alpine white car with white wheels?

    depends
    valve cover and intake manifold are aluminum so don't have to worry about rust...

        Yea I sandblasted my valve cover last fall and teh bracket on top. and the brack has some rust coloration.

          Yellow rustproofing... are you talking about cosmoline? If you are, then taking it off won't cause rust.

          Sandblasting a metal object and then leaving it bare will cause rust.

            if you sandblasted the valve cover theres a good chance you now have sand in your engine

                I just posted the white wheels pic in another thread. Its really dirty now. I'll clean it up and post more pics later.

                  Only an idiot would do that though, and only a complete moron wouldnt take steps after sandblasting to make sure it was cleaned out.
