Cost to paint a few body components?

I'm heading up to Portland tomorrow to meet with James (Slammed_E30) to pick up my new front valence, and then getting a new front bumper cover from TJ in a few weeks.

About how much is it going to cost me to get the valence smoothed (rubberized crap removed) and painted, and the front bumper cover and my passenger side fender painted? I was thinking around $300-400. Am I way off, or pretty close? If it's not too much more, I'm also going to take my door handles and mirrors in and have them painted Delphin to match the car.

I think you're way off... probably looking at double.

If you were to tackle the labor and just drop off the prepped parts for paint you may be able to get it down to what you're looking to spend.

I paid $550 for one fender, bumper, valance and also the hood and the door that needed to be blended in to the new white.

Try and smooth the pannel out yourself. Paint would be in the $300-400 range.

        Good luck!

I just had a dent taken out of my hood and then had it repainted. The painting part (Prep work, supplies, paint labor) came to around $350, maybe a bit more. And that was the better of the two quotes that I got.

I had 2 bumpers, valance, and IS lip painted, and i got a great deal. I was charged 400. I smoothed the valance myself and scuffed the bumpers my self too. The more work you do, the less he has to do...so you save a few bucks there. The guy that did it was a friend of mine and he said he would have charged a regular customer 600

I'm getting a fender and door painted for $300 next weekend including labor. Good deal considering the caliber of work this place does.

For comparison, I got a quote at one of the most reputable body shops in Winston, Bassen Auto Body, and got quoted at $625... big difference. I know where I'll be taking my baby. :)

Looks like I'm probably just going to be getting the valence and bumper painted for now, as it's about all I can afford at once.

I'll get the fender repainted and the other small bits done later.

A buddy of mine who's family owns a body shop is going to let me prep all the parts for paint, and allow to me use any of their shop's supplies, AT the shop, and then they will paint everything for me. :D
