    M-technic II kit. where? $$?

so my next project will be finding a M-tech II body kit. front rear and sides. i have an 88ix, and i'm assuming it won't be too hard to put on. does it includes the bumpers and all? or will i have to buy plastic bumpers?

how much should i expect to pay? and where on earth do i get the damn things? i've seen pieces of the kit on ebay, but only pieces.

someone who has experience with this kit: how tough is it to put on?

thank you, im just trying to get a feel for this kit.

stay away from fiber glass replicas if you plan on mounting it yourself (i know you didnt ask. just useful advice). full factory kits sometimes pop up on ebay.de, you can try emailing salvage yards in europe, or see if Greg (M-technik-3) can bring one back for you.

if you have alluminum bumpers on your car, i believe you will need the internals from the factory plastic bumpers to fit an mtech2 kit

You could always order a replica kit from Lowen Design.

well, i want to hear more about these replica kits.

how bad can they be? i mean they must be significantly cheaper right?

and if the only thing stopping me from buying one is the fact that they are tough to DIY, then i would definately pay to get it put on.

cheap fiber glass is a major PITA to modify, even for a professional body shop. ive seen pieces of replica mt2 kits and the rear doesnt even come close to fitting and the front doesnt line up nor is it molded to fit over the valance like the original. a full fiberglass mt2 kit will still be around $1000, and could easily be another grand to modify and install. i strongly considered going the fiberglass route, but after asking around and talking to a body shop i felt it wasnt worth it.

Seriously, where the hell do I buy these things? Searching brings up nothing.

I'm going to the dealership tomorrow and asking how much for a new one.

Mtech II kits are NLA from BMA NA. They *might* be able to order you a couple of odds and ends from BMW AG...

They were just a touch under $5,000 for the complete kit when they were available through the dealer.
