no i was going to do the entire window at 50%, which really isnt too dark, just a subtle tint.
i found a local shop that will do it for 80bucks, which isnt TOOOO over priced to what others have told me, I havent really looked much though.

I had 40% on the windshields of several cars for 15 or so years, up to about 3-4 years ago. It was great during the day (like wearing sunglasses all the time), but in the evening it took sometime to get use too. All lights (headlights, street lights, business lights etc.) had a really weird halo effect that took getting use too, PLUS, judging distances and other vehicle closing rates were effected as well. Dark roads that you were not use to, were hard to navigate as well. As I got older it bacame even harder to see out of at night. I have since gotten away from having tint on the windshield of any of my cars. It is illegal unless you have a prescription from a eye doctor requiring it for medical reasons (forget the eye related issue that requires it).

Personally I would not have done it looking back now. It was probably a result in my eye sight not being what it use to be (or maybe it is my age or what they always say "doing that will make you go blind !!").
