My car is missing one peice of black trim along the side of the car. I want to try and find a replacement at a wrecked car lot, but can anyone tell me how to remove the piece off of another car? It seems like the only option is pulling it straight off, but i wanted to make sure there are no special procedures. Thanks

Hmm...just went out this afternoon to see if I couldn't get it off my car on the other side, but found no plastic nut in the wheelwell. I've tried just pulling, but it doesn't seem to give much, and I am worried about damaging some of the mounting hardware by pulling too hard.
Also, I began trying to find out how the rest of the trim removes, and am having trouble with that as well. The trim on the door was easy, but O can't seem to get the trim immediately in front of and behind the doors off. (I have a 1990 325i coupe). Also, the trim on the bumper doesn't seem to want to budge at all, but I can't seem to find any sort of clips behind it....is it put in place with adhesive?
Finally, some of the trim seems to have a bit of a rubbery feel to it, it isn't as hard as I imagined. Would it still be possible to paint this? Thanks
