what is out there other than m-tech one? dont't really like them. I did kinda like the Racing Dynamics one.
Since you have done the rear bumper before how much would it cost to have it done by a good body shop? I am terrible with cosmetics, ie paint body work, even sanding, i just always go over board.
Fred Kim went around to a bunch of local bodyshops around him, told them what needed to be done, and got price quotes.
Seems to me it was $1500+ consistantly, maybe he can chime in and correct me if needed.
Yup, the quotes I got were about $1200 to $1500 to do it correctly. Other shops can do it for a lot less but you'll get what you pay for. If you really like the M-Technic II rear, I'd actually suggest getting a replica. It'll be a lot easier and cheaper to install, plus you won't upset any of the hardcore OEM guys around here like Ryan ;).

is there any sort of m-tech 2 replica rear end for pre-88 cars that is ready to bolt on? if that wasn't made yet, that would be a good cosmo kramer patent.
I retired my E30 for now...

You can get one from Lowen Design... if you feel like playing russian roulette w/your money with those guys.
"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."
There is a car here in chattanooga, actualy with Euro bumpers and the newer front valance. it appeared to be an 86 325i Red, lowered with dished BBS's. There was no gap at the front, but it appeared that they had bent down the lower edge of the euro bumper to fill in the gap, or build up the airdamn. As with a stock eurp bumper bolted on there is a 3/4-1 inch gap under there(i tried). The car looked awsome, I've seen it twice once driving by while I was at hardee's then another time at a local Marina.

no cheap fiber glass replica part is going to be simply "bolt on;" and to modify fiberglass will be alot more costly than modifying plastic or urethane. trust me, dont get your hopes up with fiberglass. but to answer your question, yes there are pre88 replica mt2 kits available.
