    86 blue interior

First post. I just picked up this 86 325e with blue interior. First, is this leather? Best way to restore or is it too far gone?

Looks like indigo leather unlike 95% of the goofs out there with vinyl that call it leather. You can probably bring it back with a real cleaning, a few courses of conditioning and/or a recolor.

Thanks for confirming its leather and color. Wasn't sure if indigo or pacific

To be fair, it could be pacific, but you could just run your VIN and probably find out.

          Nice color.

You'd better check the condition of the foam in the driver's left bolster. If it disintegrated, then your leather will crack quickly.

To restore its color is quite difficult, it can only be painted, but it will not be the same color as the old one. mapquest directions

86 should be Pacific. I am working on an E24 interior in that color, and used Leather Magic dye to recolor. Result - https://bigcoupe.com/phpBB3/viewtopi...234927#p234927
