    Removing shift knob?

Ive tried pulling it off... wont budge, tried twisting... nothing. so how do I remove it? Its not a stock e30 knob, but it is a bmw knob, Its beige leather and silver plastic and has a 6sp insert (if this helps). how do I get it off?

stand over the console, grab the knob with both hands, and yank as hard as you can upwards. try not hitting yourself in the nuts though.

Whatever you end up doing, make sure you have an ice pack handy. The knob demands sacrifice.

Stradle console, aim lever towards crotch and pull in quick, violent jerking motions

                I find this useful,

sit on the passenger side, put the gear in neutral or 4th. Grab it with both hands and push against the seat and yank hard.

Lol, quoted simply because I wanna see it.

Edit: It would be a nice DIY for those (like yourself, OP) who struggle with removing the shift knob.

Place duct-taped channel lock pliers around the lever below the knob. Use a slide hammer with the nut under the jaws of the pliers and pull the hammer weight upward. Pop.

Actually, I just made that up. Let me know if it works; I need to swap a shift knob and my nuts are still swollen up from R&Ring my wheel bearings.
