trunk shocks ???

    trunk shocks ???

    i bought trunk shock for my 1988 convertable i only have one shock but received two do most cars have one or two ???or did they ship 2 by mistake

    My cab has two. When one is removed, the trunk wont stay up.

      you have two??are they on the same side or one on eack side ???i only have a mount for one is mine a heavt duty one ???anyone elsr with one

        Actually, would that would make more sense if you just had a one strong one instead of two weaker shocks ?( kind of like e30 hoods)

            While we are on this subject, why would the shocks for the top cover die? Mine have been dead for years. Irritating considering the trunk has been open much more than the top cover.

              Mine did too. ~50$ from BMA for a pair.

              BTW, what the heck is that little cable that snakes from the storage area into the trunk?

                My trunk has one (left side). And my top's cover shock is dead too =\

                And that little cable is what unlatches the other side of the top's cover; it doesn't run into the trunk.. unless we're talking about different cables.

                And since we keep going off topic... have any of you pulled the rubber plugs that conceal the rear shock mounts off? It maks a great stash spot (not that I've ever need to) :P

                  Mine did too. ~50$ from BMA for a pair.
                  For 50.00 (good deal seen them for 70.00) I'll hold it for the 20 seconds I am dealing with it. lol

                    i only have one trunk shock too...and my trunk is not fully flush with the body....could that be the problem?

                      there's also another cable that attaches the trunk to the top cover so you can't open both at the same time.

                            it turns out my car only takes one and the one holds just fine ...FOR SALE one trunk shock for a cab..20.00$$shipped ????pm me..ill post in buy and sell too i paid 50.00 for the two
