    My DIY sunroof headliner re-cover

I’m bored so I figure I’d share the latest in my ongoing sunroof saga. This weekend I re-covered sunroof headliner. Lots of planning & measuring. I probably made it harder than it needed to be.

Pretty pleased with it, for my first attempt at any sort of upholstery. Stitching a straight line is really hard, so the fancy diamond stitch hides that a little bit.

Next step is to rivet the arms back on & eventually re-attach it to the car.

that looks great man, cant wait to see it in the car.

I re-did mine with alcantara a few years ago, supposed to be the catalyst to do the entire headliner, but so far it hasn't happened, lol.

ID:	10119314I’ve re-installed the liner & almost completed the project.

a few things I would do differently:

        - source better material, instead of settling for the only tan vinyl option available at an under-stocked big box fabric store.

        - add some sort of backing tape to reinforce & keep the clips in place (circled).

After 6 years, countless disassemblies, repairs, re-assemblies, etc….. I believe 🤞 that my sunroof is back together finally complete and finished!
